Krakow is the most wonderful town in Poland, and for some, in the whole of Europe. There are many interesting sights, such as the majestic Wawel Castle, the fascinating Salt Mines in Wieliczka, and the exhilarating and energetic Rynek, the largest town square in Europe. Besides its stunning architecture, Krakow has the honour of being the country's cultural centre. The many pubs, cafes and restaurants cater to almost every taste, while the various theatres and cultural events give the city a cosmopolitan feel. All of these factors make Krakow the ideal place to study, work or live. Its close proximity to Warsaw, frequent bus and train connections, and its own international airport make it a convenient travel hub, while its location in the heart of Europe provides an easy exploration of Eastern and Central Europe (weekend trips to such places as Vienna, Budapest, Berlin or Prague are not a problem). Another place worth visiting in Krakow is its old Jewish neighbourhood Kazimierz, which was once a separate town set up in 1335. Now it has become the place of many cultural events, such as the yearly Festival of Jewish Culture.
